Located in Chinnamanur of Theni district, Development of Women and Children (DWC) trust is set up with an objective of empowering women and children. From preventing child marriages to financially supporting the downtrodden women, the trust has hundreds of success stories to boast. In a locality where women are seen fit just for domestic chores, the trust’s founder M Parameswari has turned the tables by teaching them the nuances of business. The lives of many women were uplifted. The trust's founder gets to the basics, when it is about supporting women.

DWC trust is known for using the available resources in the locality to create beautiful products. This proved to be a successful business module as the trust has produced cost-effective mattresses and pillows from the cotton available from Theni.
The district is known for plenty of plantain productions. DWC trust is now tapping on that resource to make sarees, dhotis and other garments from banana fibre.
The trust has taught these businesses to the army of women, who are today financially independent.
